EPF Foam Blocks, Ball Pits, and Why I started Renting this out

I genuinely enjoy planning my kids’ birthday parties. I like thinking about the setup, the flow of the day, and how to make it feel special. But over time, I have also learned how intense it can be. You are coordinating space limits, venue rules, food, nap schedules, weather, guest lists, and still trying to be present on the day itself.
After a few parties, I noticed that what made the biggest difference was not doing more, but choosing activities that worked without me managing them constantly. That is where this ball pit and building block setup came in, and why I eventually decided to rent it out for other parents too.
A small play area that works in tight spaces
EPP foam blocks have been one of the easiest things to use at our own parties. You place them on the floor and the kids immediately understand what to do with them. Older children naturally start building towers, houses, beds, castles, and obstacle courses that keep evolving throughout the party. They negotiate, rebuild, knock things down, and start again.
For younger ones, the set comes with 900+ pit balls. The blocks can be arranged into a small ball pit of about 1.5 by 1.8 metres. It is not huge, but it is cosy and gives toddlers their own corner.
This setup works especially well in condo function rooms and indoor spaces where bouncy castles are not allowed or where space is limited.
Easy logistics matter more than you think
Everything fits into the back of a typical six-seater car, with the second row still usable. Setup takes only a few minutes. There is no blower, no complicated instructions, and no timing pressure. On party day, that simplicity matters more than you realise.
I wanted this to be something that supports the party rather than becoming another thing to think about. That intention shapes how I offer the rental.
Pricing and what’s included
This is a single bundle that includes everything. Suitable for children around one to six years old. Self collection only. A refundable deposit is required.
For older kids, there is an optional Giant Connect 4 game for S$10.
For parents who want something simple
If you enjoy hosting but want to reduce the amount of coordination needed on the day itself, this kind of setup can take some pressure off. It gives children a safe, open-ended space to play, while allowing adults to actually talk, eat, and enjoy being there too.
That is really the idea behind offering this rental. Not to create a big spectacle, but to make parties feel a little more manageable for families who already carry a lot.
